TWO 18THC GEOMETRIC AKAN GOLD WEIGHTS ( No 2257 )

These are two centuries old gold measuring weights from the Baule people of the Ivory Coast. Both are half circles with crenelated edges, worn down from use. They are at least 18thC. Made of lost wax technique bronze. The patinas have darkened with age. In good condition.. Wear commensurate with tribal use. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. width 4cm approx
