A LARGE +SCULPTURAL DINKA SHIELD FROM SUDAN ( No 1765 )
This is a large leather shield from the Dinka people of Sudan. Has a simple ovall form with a wooden stick handle that runs the length of the shield at the back. Threaded through slits in the leather. Classic Dinka oval shape with a gently protruding nipple at the centre. The patina has a soft sheen and is well developed. In good condition. Stand not included, for photography only. We guarantee that this item has been tribally used. Height approx 110cms
