A large sized heddle pulley from the Dogon people of Mali. Used to guide thread on the side of a loom. Featuring cubist faceted form With a repetition of the breast motif. Made from a heavy and dense African hardwood. There is wear from the rotation of the spool on the inside of the legs as one would expect. A well developed patina. Good collectable condition.
